Hardware

• Is the server secure behind a firewall?

  • Yes.  The server is behind a firewall with real time intrusion detection.  Only the necessary ports are open to the outside world.

• Is the server behind a UPS?

  • Yes.  The server is connected to a Compaq UPS.

• What is your SLA?  What happens if a server crashes?

  • We strive for as close to 99.99% uptime as possible.  Our servers are very redundant as they have redundant fans, power supplies, nics, and hot swappable raid drive system.  We have spare parts in house for most components.  In case of hardware maintenance we will notify you a head of time and will try our best to schedule downtime on Sunday mornings or at a time you designate for maintenance.

• Do you take care of maintenance (HotFixes, Service Packs, etc)?

  • Yes.  We take care of all patching and schedule the patches on weekends at 4 am. 

• How do I know how much bandwidth I am using?

  • We can create real time MRTG graphs for your bandwidth usage.

• Does the server also come with anti-virus software?

  • No.  Anti-virus for window Sharepoint is expensive and is charged on a per user basis.  If you purchase a Sharepoint anti-virus, we'll be glad to help support it.

• Can I install 3rd party web parts OR other software?

  • Yes.  It is your server and you have full admin rights to it.

• I have an existing sharepoint web site.  Can it be moved to my new server?

  • Yes. The content can be moved and we can  help you migrate the web site to your new server.  User names will need to be re-created.

• Is there a limit on the number of users I can have?

  • You can create an unlimited number of users

• Is there a limit on the number of users I can have?.

  • No.  Your active directory supports an unlimited number of users.

• How long until my new server is ready?

  • We can usually have your new server ready within 1 week.  However, email us as for a better estimate.

• How much are extra IP addresses?

  • You can host an unlimited number of sites with those 5 IPs.  If you do need more ip addresses, they are $1 per IP per month.

• What is the cost?
  $399 per month (month to month contract, 10% discount if prepay yearly)
